Two people were injured in a crash as police closed a busy road.
Merseyside Police were called to Hall Lane in Kirkby at around 9.15pm on Wednesday, July 27, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene, which was outside Kirkby C of E Primary School, they found two cars had smashed into each other and closed the road in both directions.
Officers requested the help of North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, who attended the scene shortly after. Two people were found to have minor injuries and were rushed to hospital by ambulance.

The road remained closed as emergency services waited for recovery vehicles to arrive.
