Two Edinburgh dogs search for new home together after becoming best pals

A pair of Edinburgh dogs are now searching for a forever home together after becoming best friends at a local shelter.

The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home have launched an appeal to find a new family for Arlo and Flower, a Chihuahua cross duo who are hoping to be rehomed as a pair.

With Arlo thought to be around one year and eight months old, Flower is significantly older and is thought to be around five, however the pair have made a fast friendship.

Although both show slightly nervous tendencies when it comes to strangers, they are completely comfortable around each other, and are looking for somewhere with a secure garden they can run around in.

Speaking about the duo, the EDCH also specified that the new owners should be experienced in looking after dogs previously.

They added: "Arlo and Flower are looking for an experienced owner preferably someone who has owned smaller dogs in the past. They will need to be the only animals in an adult only home. They would like to have direct access to a secure garden as Flower can be a little escape artist.

"Although Arlo and Flower arrived at the home separately it didn’t take long for them to become firm friends. They get on so well we would love for them to be rehomed together. Both can be very nervous of strangers and rather loud around other dogs.

"They have helped each other become much more confident and really bring out the best in each other. Flower is fonder of her treats where Arlo has a love for soft teddies.

"They have bags of personality and are a fantastic duo who have lots of potential, and with the right guidance and time they are sure to be amazing pets."
