Two doppelganger baseball stars with same name take DNA test to see if they are related

Two baseball players with the exact same name and near identical appearances have taken a DNA test to uncover if they're actually related - after years of being mixed up for one another. Brady Feigl, 32, is a Long Island Ducks pitcher living in New York, while his doppelgänger, Brady Feigl, 27, plays for the Las Vegas Aviators.

The strangers, who are the spitting image of one another, are both 6ft4in tall, with vibrant red hair and glasses, the Mirror reports. They were first mixed up in 2015 by Dr James Andrew, after he coincidentally performed the exact same elbow surgery on both patients.

Younger Feigl said around six or seven months post op he was contacted about when he was reporting for surgery. The bizarre situation is what led to the discovery of his undeniable lookalike. Feigl explained: "He was like, 'He had it six months ago. What are you talking about? That’s how I found out there was two of us."

Older Brady Gregory Feigl is from Missouri and played for Oakland Athletics Single-A basketball team. His 27-year-old counterpart, Brady Matthew Feigl, was born in Maryland and played for the Texas Rangers' Triple-A affiliate.

In 2017, the duo were mixed up again when the wrong Feigl was tagged on Twitter by the University of Missouri's baseball team in a birthday tribute. At this point, the younger Feigl had been signed for the team. His almost identical twin replied: "Wrong Brady Feigl. Might be looking for @bfeigl39 …”

Despite their unusual similarities, a DNA test concluded that there was no biological connection between the two men but the pair revealed they share a strong bond and were "still brothers in a way".

Back in 2020, the Mirror similarly reported on two females with a seven year age gap from different continents yet they looked so alike their own families couldn't tell them apart. Bianca Mihai, 18, a singer from Buzau, Romania, and Palestinian-Syrian model Lana Al Beik, 25 discovered one another online.

They decided to meet up in Dubai where Lana lives after making contact and were reportedly overwhelmed with emotion. Bianca said: "It really is something magical".

The teen's grandmother apparently mistook Lana for her granddaughter in a photograph. Lana's own mother was equally as confused when she saw a video of Bianca singing and thought it was her daughter in the clip.

According to local media, the singer travelled 3,400km (2,113) miles to the UAE to meet up with her lookalike through the help of her photographer friend and the NGO 'Freedom Station'
