On Friday around 11:30 a.m., a devastating shooting took place outside a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, resulting in two fatalities and seven individuals sustaining injuries, as confirmed by the Arkansas State Police.
Among the injured was a law enforcement officer, fortunately with non-life-threatening wounds. The shooter, who was subsequently taken into custody, was critically injured after being shot by law enforcement officials, according to state police reports.
An eyewitness present at Holt Builder's Supply, located across the street from the Mad Butcher grocery store where the shooting occurred, described hearing multiple rounds being fired and witnessing victims being evacuated from the scene.
The witness recounted that the situation outside the Mad Butcher grocery store remained active between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. local time on Friday, indicating the intensity and duration of the incident.
