The UK's spike in Covid-19 cases is "extremely worrying" and due to two strains running rampant across the nation, the lack of testing and waning vaccine efficacy, an expert told The Mirror.
Professor Denis Kinane, a world-leading Immunologist and founding Scientist of Cignpost Diagnostics, said face masks must return and urged people to exercise social responsibility as the "troubling" summer surge of Covid-19 cases is just the calm before the storm of our "traditional autumn surge".
He warns that infection rates are quickly approaching the 350,000 a day mark.
