Emergency services rushed to a Kirkby shop following reports of an "altercation" on Friday afternoon.
Merseyside Police confirmed that around 2.10pm on Friday, Jul 8, officers were called to the Poundland store on Newtown Gardens in which a member of staff became involved in an altercation with a customer. There were also further reports of thefts from B&M and Home Bargain stores in the Kirkby area.
Two men have since been charged with robbery, theft from a shop and possession of an imitation firearm. John Haase, 66, of Fairhaven, Kirkby, and Jeffrey Hayes, 61, of Pinfold Crescent, Kirkby have been remanded in custody to appear at the complex case adult remand court tomorrow, Monday, July 11.
