Two men have been charged over their alleged involvement in the shooting of an underworld figure, but police are yet to find those responsible for carrying out the killing.
Amar Kettule, 34, was gunned down on a western Sydney street on July 10, 2021, in what investigators have described as a well-planned murder.
The 34-year-old, who was well-known to police due to his underworld connections, died at the scene.
Detectives executed search warrants at homes in Bossley Park and Austral, both in the city's west, just after 6am on Thursday.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the Austral address, while a 22-year-old man was arrested in Bossley Park.
The pair have been refused bail after being charged with destroying property in company using fire, for allegedly torching the car linked to the 2021 murder.
Police are yet to charge anyone with pulling the trigger.
Then-Homicide Squad commander Danny Doherty previously said more than one person was involved in Mr Kettule's shooting.
"This was obviously a well-planned murder ... the victim was taken by surprise and was virtually assassinated in his vehicle," he said during an earlier appeal.
Mr Kettule's younger brother Dyllan, 19, was shot dead outside his girlfriend's unit block in Canley Vale in 2014.
Police are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information on organised crime to contact Crime Stoppers.
