Two babies were among patients rushed to hospital after a crash this morning.
Five patients, including the two infants, were taken to hospital after the incident in Chingford, Essex.
Reports of the crash first emerged at 9.47am, when the crash is believed to have happened, EssexLive reports.
It occurred in the A1037 between Heriot Avenue and Valley Side.
As a result of the incident, a road was shut in both directions while emergency services dealt with the awful scene.
At present the exact condition of the patients, including the babies, is not known.
All the patients were taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.15 this morning (July 16) to reports of a road traffic collision in Mansfield Way, Chingford.
"We sent three ambulance crews, two paramedics in fast response units and an incident response officer to the scene.
“We treated five patients, including two babies, at the scene and took them to hospital.”
At this stage, the road remains closed with heavy traffic between Heriot Avenue and Valley Side.
