Two Arsenal players tipped to take Mikel Arteta's side to next level amid Man City battle

Former Chelsea midfielder Geremi believes Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have key roles to play on and off the pitch in the Premier League title run-in.

The Gunners currently sit four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, but have played a game more and have shown signs of wilting in recent weeks after squandering two-goal leads at Liverpool and West Ham. Mikel Arteta has one of the youngest squads in the division at his disposal and therefore experience of late season title run-ins is limited.

However, two players of which that cannot be said of are Jesus and Zinchenko, who both won four titles at City prior to their moves to the Emirates last summer. It is already clear that the former City duo have helped breed an improved winning mentality at the club and that will be required even more so in the coming weeks.

Speaking to Lord Ping, Geremi claimed it will be up to them two to help 'drive' their teammates in the right direction by passing on their experiences of previous title victories.

He said: "Players like Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko, the experienced players who have won the Premier League, their job is to drive the rest of the squad over the line and give them the confidence to go on and win the league.

"It is very important that both of those players are motivating and advising the team, they know what it takes to reach the level of a Premier League champion – they must pass that on to the others and share the knowledge they have over the next seven games. If they can do that, then they will get rewarded at the end of the season."
