Two people have been arrested at Stansted Airport and charged after the death of a 76-year-old woman in Croydon.
Nelly Akomah was found fatally injured at a house in Ladbrook Road, Croydon, last Wednesday after a suspected burglary.
Hugo Da Silva Pires, 28, and Catia Feliciano, 31, were detained at the airport on Friday in connection with the incident.
Da Silva Pires, from Thornton Heath, has now been charged with murder, burglary and fraud. Feliciano was charged with fraud and perverting the course of justice.
Nelly’s family has been informed and will continue to be supported by specialist officers, the Met said.
The exact cause of death is not known after a post-mortem carried out last Thursday was inconclusive. Further tests are being carried out to establish a cause.
