Man charged over alleged murder, kidnapping after man's body found, woman burned on NSW Central Coast

A man, 30, has been charged with an alleged murder and kidnapping after a man's body was found and a woman was injured on the New South Wales Central Coast.

The body of a man, 52, who police say was known to the accused, was found inside a unit at Wyong on Saturday.

When police were called to the unit block, they spoke to a woman, 44, who told them she had escaped from a nearby apartment after being detained on Thursday.

Detective Superintendent Chad Gillies said police had charged a man, 30, and woman, 33.

"Investigators have now charged the 30-year-old male in relation to the murder of a 52-year-old male deceased and also charged him in relation to the kidnapping of the 44-year-old female victim," he said.

"The 33-year-old female co-accused was in a relationship with the 30-year-old male and was charged today with conceal serious offence linked to that murder."

Detective Superintendent Gillies said it's believed the man who died had been in a fight with the other man.

"I can confirm that all four people are known to each other," he said.

"So what is important for the community is this was not a random attack.

"There's no ongoing risk in relation to this incident."

The detective said the woman who was allegedly kidnapped was in hospital.

"I can't speculate as well whether weapons were or were not used at this point in time," Detective Superintendent Gillies said.

"[A] very serious physical injury [was] sustained to [the woman] including some burn marks.

"She's now being treated at hospital for her injuries and is assisting our investigators.

"Our investigators will support her and work with her whilst we piece together exactly what's occurred."

The man, 30, and woman, 33, are due in Wyong Local Court on Monday.
