The Tennessee Titans have reportedly found their man to replace Mike Vrabel.
According to multiple reports, the Titans are set to hire Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan as their next head coach. The news comes on the same day Callahan had a second interview with Tennessee.
This is a fantastic hire, as the Titans are getting an offensive-minded head coach who has a track record of success with young quarterbacks like Joe Burrow and Jake Browning.
Adding to that, Callahan has experience as a quarterbacks coach, a job he held with the Detroit Lions and then-Oakland Raiders.
Callahan didn’t call the plays in Cincinnati but did have heavy input on game-planning, and on a play-by-play basis during games.

It’ll be interesting to see how Callahan fills out his coaching staff, but one name we’re keeping an eye on is Bill Callahan, his dad.
An offensive line coach, Callahan is one of the best in the sport at his job. He is currently under contract with the Cleveland Browns but perhaps he’d be interested in leaving to join his son in Nashville.
Now, a look at the reaction to the news that the Titans are set to hire Callahan as their new head coach.
Like the Brian Callahan hire for many reasons.
The development of Will Levis and the offense tops the list.#Titans #TitanUp— Rhett Bryan 📻 (@rhettbtennessee) January 23, 2024
Brian Callahan is a great choice for the #Titans and the development of franchise QB Will Levis.
Excited to see the staff he assembles.

I'd expect Brian Callahan to call plays in Tennessee regardless of who he hires as OC. Just a point to be noted.

Huge fan of Brian Callahan’s. Personally happy he gets this shot.
Next question: Does #Browns OL coach (and maestro) Bill Callahan leave Cleveland to go coach w/ his son? #Titans https://t.co/t1XuvSj8Hq— Aditi Kinkhabwala (@AKinkhabwala) January 23, 2024
Can confirm Titans finalizing deal with #Bengals OC Brian Callahan. Titans saw him as top target for a while and proved it by assuring he didn't leave the building today.
A long overdue HC shot for Callahan, who has been with Zac Taylor every step of the way on this rebuild.

The #Titans are hiring Brian Callahan, per @AdamSchefter
Don’t be surprised if Thomas Brown or David Shaw aren’t also a part of the deal.

One big question for #Titans fans will be who Callahan can bring in as OL coach given the struggles of the last two years. Obvious connection is his dad, Browns OL coach Bill Callahan, who is one of the handful of best OL coaches in the league. Brian has stated that he’s “always… pic.twitter.com/rf1cymSu6u

Callahan was originally my number two choice for the #Titans behind Ben Johnson but became my clear top pick when it became obvious that Johnson had no real interest in the job.
Callahan has a great pedigree with the bulk of his experience coming from the Shanahan/McVay tree,…

Mike Vrabel was a proven commodity as head coach. With Brian Callahan, as it is with every rising coordinator, it's a roll of the dice as to whether he has the chops to do the job. The Titans should have found a way to make it work with Vrabel.

He's a good, down to earth guy. Easy to talk to. Open minded. Grew up in a coaching household. Has worked with great QBs. Sees the game from their perspective. Has helped this offense transform multiple times and figure out their own weaknesses to become their strengths. They've…

The best part of the #titans hiring Brian Callahan is that his older brother leads one of the biggest auto parts companies in the world. pic.twitter.com/SzHbme2SKj

If Brian Callahan becomes the next Bill Belichick and the Titans reel off 6 Super Bowls in 20 years…will Ryan Tannehill’s three INTs be the best thing that ever happened to the organization?

A media member who is very close to the Bengals just texted me and said their hire will be internal
So Liam Coen being at Kentucky will come down to whether the new Titans coach wants to pair him with Will Levis. I guess we shall see

This may be overly emotional but I’m filled with so much joy.
I am so excited for the future of this team and the direction Ran & Amy are choosing to go in.

I think Brian Callahan is one of the most thoughtful guys I've interviewed over the past few years and an underrated force in Burrow's development. Burrow always has the right answer for defenses but Callahan helped give him a lot of offensive options. Also: Big, big F1 fan.
