New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick must not have liked the look of the draft board when he was on the clock at 21st overall. Clearly, he felt there was plenty of value later in the round.
So he traded back.
Just like everyone expected.
Many cracked up on Twitter about Belichick doing classic Belichickian things on draft day. Analysts loved the trade value that Belichick got back trading back, getting the 29th overall pick, a late third-rounder and a late fourth-rounder in exchange for No. 21. But there were some naysayers who didn’t like the Patriots passing on the talent on the board.
