The Indianapolis Colts and running back Jonathan Taylor agreed to a three-year contract extension, according to multiple reports Saturday, and Twitter had a field day with the news.
The agreement ends a long dispute between the two sides as the running back market continued to depreciate over the course of the offseason. In what seems like a solid deal for both sides, Taylor is now the third-highest paid back in average annual salary ($14 million) and his guaranteed money ($26.5 million) also ranks third among active backs.

This seems great. With the RB market stalling out, I'd hoped we'd see something sensible. Every high-profile player wants to reset the market at their position, but this doesn't seem to do that?
We needed — and this maybe provides — a framework for RB extensions going forward. https://t.co/CnFyxlchwP

Taylor’s holdout gets him $14m a year after Barkley got under $11m and Jacobs fought to get $12m. Good for him. https://t.co/kbPUsLviby

Sensible resolution to a situation that got a lot uglier than it ever needed to. Taylor is the kind of player you feel good about paying. https://t.co/nbDmCFFcEZ
