Twitter users have been left baffled after Leo Varadkar uploaded an image of his fridge to social media.
The Tanaiste was documenting his partner Matt Barrett’s weekly meal prep, which was stored in Tupperware cases in the fridge. Leo took to Instagram to applaud his other half for completing the standard task.
However, online audiences instantly picked up on the disturbing fact there were no lids on any of the Tupperware cases. Crucially, many people struggled to identify what any of the foods were.

One user wrote: “So out of touch he thinks this looks totally great - rather than totally off-the-wall levels of unhinged.”
The since deleted Instagram story shows boxes levelled out over two shelves of the Tanaiste’s fridge. One user dubbed the glimpse into Leo’s private life as “chilling” due to the strange nature of the post.
One person pointed out that there appeared to be no vegetables present within the fridge or in the pre-planned meals. Others expressed sympathy for Leo’s colleagues in the Dail due to the dubious nature of the dinners.
The person wrote: “I’d say he has the staff microwave in the Dail stinking up.”
Others defended the elaborate planning, arguing that Leo and Matt were “busy guys” and that meal planning was an effective way to stay healthy.
This is not the first time Leo has given audiences an insight into the contents of his fridge. He uploaded an image in May to his 190,000 followers of his lunch boxes after admitting he had gone on a diet.
He captioned the post: “Monday morning. Lunches all ready for the week ahead. Also the Kylemore cheese I picked up at our conference on Saturday.”
The 43-year-old also previously shared an image of his birthday cake back in January with online audiences. The couple, who have birthdays that fall on the same week, celebrated with a Battenberg cake.
