The Minnesota Vikings offense jumped out to a 7-0 lead against the New York Giants. Unfortunately, the Vikings’ defense has not. This has been a theme for this Vikings’ defense under defensive coordinator Ed Donatell, leaving fans and analysts alike heated. The Giants have quickly scored twice, and the Vikings now find themselves trailing 14-7 early.
It hasn’t been just one thing either. The Giants have been able to move the ball with both the running game and the passing game in the short and intermediate levels. The pass rush hasn’t gotten there, coverage is suspect and safety Harrison Smith is massively struggling early.
It hasn’t set well with many, as Twitter is going off on both the defense and Donatell.
If Wink Martindale vs Kevin O’Connell is the blue collar guy vs Harry Styles, Brian Daboll vs Ed Donatell is Deep Blue vs a cat food dispenser

Andrew Thomas got away with a false start, but this Vikings defense is bad man

Get your shit together, Ed Donatell.

The @Vikings D is even worse than you think. On the short pass over the middle preceding the touchdown, the Vikes didn't cover Saquon out of the backfield. Would have walked in for a TD.

Ed Donatell is not making a strong case to be retained on this staff next season
