Twitter users have run into issues with the social media site this afternoon, as their tweets have apparently vanished.
Problems began at around 2.30pm on Friday, with hundreds of reports made to outage site DownDetector.Co.UK. Tweeters have taken to the site to express frustration, as previous posts seem to have been completely wiped from profiles.
Findings show the situation to be UK wide, with the highest reports seen in Glasgow, Manchester and London. Complaints show 58 per cent have run into trouble with the Twitter app, 38 per cent with the desktop website and a further nine per cent with their feed.
While some profiles are receiving a message that "tweets aren't loading", others are seeing messages that certain profiles have never tweeted, despite this being untrue. The glitch is even showing that Twitter boss Elon Musk has yet to tweet anything from his page.
Tweeters have already flocked to the app to remedy the situation, with the main issue involving profiles' tweets being deleted. Seeking advice from Twitter support, one user asked: "Twitter what's going on? This bug has occurred before and now accounts are ONCE AGAIN getting hit with this exact same issue.
"Tweets have disappeared from my account, and not only that, but this has also happened to business and corp accounts as well! Fix this."
A second queried: "#TwitterDown #Twitter All my tweets are just gone and it shows following blank message." While a third penned: "Is Twitter down? I can still interact with stuff, but nobody’s tweets are loading on their profiles…"
As of now, Twitter has not addressed the ongoing problem.
