Twitch Streamer RaKai Hit With 2-Year Ban After Walmart Shoplifting Video Surfaces

Twitch streamer RaKai has been handed a massive two-year suspension following a viral incident inside a Walmart store.

The gaming content creator could be seen picking up a bouquet and then giving it to a woman as a gift before continuing to seemingly walk away without paying for the flowers. The moment quickly circulated online, prompting intense discussion across social media.

Growing Scrutiny on Streamers Filming in Stores

According to Sportskeeda, RaKai later took the issue to X to share a screenshot of his Twitch dashboard. It shows the notification for the ban for "Illegal Activities" that will expire on December 2, 2027, after a full 730 days. Since then, Twitch has not commented publicly on the suspension.

It's not a singular incident. Twitch streamers are no strangers to platform punishment stemming from very real-life shenanigans captured on the livestream.

And with IRL streaming comes riskier when it comes to incidents of theft, public disturbances, and general bad behavior, putting more burden on creators to adhere to platform guidelines when broadcasting.

Recently, streamer Nina Lin faced her own backlash after viewers accused her of intentionally skipping a steak at a Target self-checkout. The incident spiraled into heated commentary, memes, and debates about IRL streamers pushing boundaries for views.

Nina Lin Fires Back After Her Own Twitch Ban

According to Complex, Lin directly confronted the accusations in her stream, releasing an explosive response full of profanity and dismissive remarks. She downplayed the alleged theft, suggesting that Target would not miss the value of the steak. Lin took the situation further, claiming she also stole a pair of shoes, proclaiming proudly that she paid "Free-99" for them.

Her reaction didn't stop there, as she continued to taunt critics and did not appear very moved by the consequences, later posting on Instagram Stories that she was "BIG BANNED AGAIN" while mocking those who reacted to the controversy.
