Twisters sequel trailer released featuring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones

Glen Powell looks hot

The first trailer for the stand-alone sequel Twisters has recently made its debut, sending waves of excitement among fans. Premiering during Super Bowl LVIII, this action-packed film puts Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos in the heart of nail-biting weather-related peril.

Directed by the talented Lee Isaac Chung, Twisters is set to hit theaters on July 19th, courtesy of Universal Pictures. Serving as a follow-up to the beloved 1996 film Twister, directed by Jan de Bont, this sequel aims to captivate audiences once again with its gripping storyline and thrilling visual effects.

The original Twister starred the dynamic duo of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton as storm chasers who risked their lives to develop a groundbreaking weather alert system. Now, Twisters introduces a fresh new cast, including Kiernan Shipka, David Corenswet, Sasha Lane, Maura Tierney, Katy O'Brian, Brandon Perea, Daryl McCormack, Harry Hadden-Paton, Nik Dodani, and Tunde Adebimpe.

Lee Isaac Chung, known for his critically acclaimed work on the movie Minari, directs this exhilarating sequel from a script written by Mark L. Smith. The screenplay is based on characters originally created by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin, who were responsible for the success of the 1996 film.

Behind the scenes, a star-studded production team brings Twisters to life. Patrick Crowley, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Steven Spielberg join forces as producers on this highly anticipated project. With such experienced and visionary minds at the helm, fans can expect a thrilling and unforgettable cinematic experience.

During the film's production last year, Daryl McCormack, one of the cast members, shared his personal connection to the original Twister. He admitted to being absolutely terrified by the film when he first saw it at a younger age. However, he expressed confidence in Lee Isaac Chung's ability to honor the spirit of the original while infusing it with his own unique directing style.

McCormack remarked, 'Lee Isaac Chung is such an interesting choice because he's a really sensitive director. I don’t see how he can make a film like this and not make it feel intimate, so that’s what I’m excited about.'

As the release date of Twisters draws closer, fans of the original and newcomers alike eagerly anticipate being swept away by the intense action and thrilling adventures that lie ahead. With a combination of talented cast members, an experienced production team, and the creative vision of director Lee Isaac Chung, Twisters promises to be a worthy continuation of the exhilarating legacy that the 1996 film left behind.

Be prepared to brace yourself for the storm when Twisters hits theaters on July 19th. This riveting sequel is sure to leave audiences on the edge of their seats as they embark on an adrenaline-fueled journey into the heart of nature's fury.
