The tourist hotspot Ayia Napa was subject to a huge waterspout wreaking havoc on the coastline sending beach furniture and other debris flying into the air.
The twister started as a long and thin column above the water. It quickly gained momentum and developed into a larger cyclone-style twister and as the speed intensifies it becomes wider and faster.
Eventually, it made its way toward the beach, sending beach furniture into the air and combining the water with sand as tourists fled the area.
Government data suggest around 1,000,000 UK tourists travel to Cyprus each year with Ayia Napa being one of the most popular destinations.
