Twisted pervert performed sex acts in front of children on bus journeys

A man has been jailed after performing sex acts in front of children.

Robert Jones, 53, from Denbigh, performed sex acts in front of children on buses and also targeted a dog walker, a mum out with her baby and another woman at her mum's grave, reports North Wales Live..

At court, Jones interrupted the judge as she jailed him for three years. The judge Nicola Saffman snapped and told him to "shut up and listen" as he was jailed for outraging public decency, exposure and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

His barrister could be seen pleading with him to stop as he shouted "not true Your Honour" as the judge summarised proceedings.

Prosecuting, Brian Treadwell, explained how Jones first targeted a 15-year-old girl who was riding on a bus in January of 2018.

The pervert sat next to the schoolgirl on the bus and touched her shoulder and is alleged to have said he "liked girls in school uniform".

The court heard how he had his hands "down his pants" and was "playing with himself" as he chatted to the girls

The girl quickly moved away up the bus when he realised what was happening, but he followed her along the bus and only left her alone when he said he had "finished".

In a victim impact statement, the teen said her concentration was all over the place when she should have been studtying for exams.

She added that she wonders to this day why he targeted her that day.

Jones next performed a sex act while looking at an adult magazine on a bus in the presence of a 14-year-old schoolboy at around 7am, on June 2022.

Again, in August 2022, the twisted beast exposed himself to a woman who was walking on the high street in with her baby.

The mum described the defendant as getting "awkwardly close" to them before flashing them and "trying to maintain eye contact".

On the same month, Jones flashed a dogwalker after striking up a conversation about her pet.

In April of this year, he targeted a woman as she attened to her mother's graveside.

Mr Treadwell said that he approached with his hands in his pockets and appeared to be performing a sex act on himself, before the woman fled.

When arrested and interviewed by police, Jones made "frank denials" about what he had done. He went as far as to accuse the five strangers of "colluding against him".

Defending, Sarah Yates, asked that the judge considered the possibility of getting Jones "under control" through the strict oversight of the probation service.

After being jailed, Jones was slapped with a sexual harm prevention order, banning him from having contact with children and from returning to the cemetery.
