Twelve Years of Ayotzinapa: Thousands March in Mexico City as Sheinbaum's Report Awaits Monday Reveal

Demonstrators protest outside the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation in Mexico City on September 25, 2026, a few days before the 12th anniversary of the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students. The 43 students from a teachers' college disappeared on September 26, 2014, while traveling by bus through the state of Guerrero to take part in a demonstration in Mexico City. The demonstration departed the Angel of Independence at 16:00 local time, moving down Paseo de la Reforma toward the historic center. Parents of the missing students led the column, joined by classmates from the Ayotzinapa Rural Normal School, the CNTE teachers' union, and a coalition of human rights organizations that has amplified the case's scope well beyond Guerrero state.
