The Bay, 9 pm, ITV1
After the break-up of his marriage, it’s been nice to see DI Tony Manning (Daniel Ryan) with a spring in his step and a smile on his face. But Tony’s new distraction doesn’t seem quite so much fun in tonight’s episode when he’s forced to ask Jenn (Marsha Thomason) to keep a secret from their colleagues to protect his privacy – breaking his own rule about home and work lives remaining separate.
Meanwhile, Jenn, who already has her hands full keeping tabs on loose cannon Dean Metcalf (Joe Armstrong), fails to spot the trouble brewing on her own doorstep, and elsewhere there’s a significant development in the investigation.

The Repair Shop, 8 pm, BBC1
As the new series continues, items brought into the ‘workshop of dreams’ include an old portable radio, a military bugle and a pair of children’s shoes with an incredibly poignant history. Radio and electronics expert Mark Stuckey is tasked with repairing the radio that used to play in hairdresser Karl’s grandfather’s salons, while percussion-instrument expert Pete Woods must find a way to restore Billy’s vintage bugle to its former glory.
And cobbler Dean Westmoreland repairs some shoes that belonged to Nechama, now 83, when she was a child fleeing Eastern Europe with her family, with money so tight that her shoes had to be cut to accommodate her growing feet.

Race Across the World, 9 pm, BBC One
After a tough few days finding their feet, the five teams competing to cross Canada by land have reached the first checkpoint at Haida Gwaii on the west coast. And after learning their second checkpoint location – Dawson City, more than 2,000km away – they’re beginning to grasp the scale of their task. Ahead lies the Yukon, a vast expanse twice the size of the UK.
As the teams are now realising, there’s little or no public transport in the area, forcing them to either ‘ride share’ or come up with another solution. On the upside, though, the scenery is absolutely jaw-dropping, reminding all involved to soak up this experience, even as they’re pushed way out of their comfort zones.

New political thriller The Night Agent follows a low-level FBI agent who works nights in the basement of the White House manning a phone line for undercover spies that never rings. But one day, it does, setting into motion a chain of events that uncovers a conspiracy that reaches all the way to the Oval Office.
Gabriel Basso leads the cast as agent Peter Sutherland, who soon crosses paths with a terrified civilian named Rose Larkin, who he has to protect throughout the series. This is the perfect binge watch for for fans of twisty thrillers!
