Warren’s Vortex

10.10pm, Sky Comedy
A zany sci-fi comedy that is a bit like Doctor Who: The Sitcom. Warren has a mysterious glittering portal in his shed, but he only ever uses it to dump leaves in. When his teenage daughter is sucked into it one day – leaving her trusty vape behind – he jumps in after her. They find themselves in 2043, where evil refrigerators are trying to kill them (yes, refrigerators). From there, they end up in lots of trouble across different dimensions. Hollie Richardson

Martin & Roman’s Irish Road Trip

8pm, Channel 4
Martin Kemp used to live in Dublin; his son Roman films a quizshow in Belfast but has never explored outside the city. That’s reason enough, then, for a father-and-son road trip around Ireland. Expect bickering and bonding, as they start in County Cork to learn about Clíodhna, Queen of the Banshees, and Ireland’s former version of Alcatraz, Spike Island. HR

Evolution

9pm, BBC Two

This has been a revelatory series – with his evident love for the subject serving as our route in, Chris Packham has brought evolution to life in dramatic style. He finishes with horses and the question of how they came to be so fast. The answer is both complex and deceptively simple, involving fossils, leeches and fish. Phil Harrison

Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace

9pm, ITV1
More heartbreaking tales of lost children and bittersweet reunions. This week Davina McCall, Nicky Campbell and the genealogy team help Michael, who was abandoned as a premature newborn in a box outside a hospital, and Christine, who was left on the last carriage of a train at Waterloo. Priya Elan

Celebrity Hunted

9pm, Channel 4
Some of this season’s celebrities are such a delight you’d happily hide them in your cupboard, but the brains and brawn of Chief Ray and the team aren’t seduced by fame. As the stars hatch a daring escape plot in Brighton, a couple of cheeky chancers think they can outsmart the Hunters. Hannah Verdier

Secret Lives of Gypsy Wives

10pm, Channel 4
More of the irresistible reality show following the gen Z Gypsy influencer Trewley Precious and her overprotective but loving Essex brood. With brother Jamie’s 40th approaching, Trewley plans a trip for the family. Or, as she puts it: “Get your titties out in Morocco! Actually, don’t do that – you’ll get nicked …” Hannah J Davies

Live sport

Athletics: European Championships, 10.30am, BBC One Day one, including the women’s 100m heats with champion Dina Asher-Smith.
