Sally Wainwright Remembers… Happy Valley

There is no disputing that Happy Valley is one of the greatest British dramas: even after a seven-year hiatus, the final season was a smash hit last year. The show’s creator, Sally Wainwright, reflects on the making of Sarah Lancashire’s steely sergeant Catherine Cawood. The first episode airs straight after. HR

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (Kenneth Branagh, 1994), 8pm, Sky Cinema Greats
For his melodramatic version of the horror classic, director and star Kenneth Branagh aims for the Romantic and the romantic. Bare-chested and Byronic, his Victor Frankenstein is an obsessive young man, his love for adopted sister Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) losing out to the urge to resurrect the dead. As the stitched-together “creature”, Robert De Niro is an interesting if not entirely successful contrast – implacably brutal but largely sympathetic. Simon Wardell
