TV’s greatest challenge show is getting a junior spin-off this autumn, but before that another cohort of game celebrities is taking on taskmaster Greg Davies: Andy Zaltzman, Babátúndé Aléshé, Emma Sidi, Jack Dee and Rosie Jones. In the first round, they have to search for a seal, throw yoga balls in a theme park and force-feed Alex Horne a bowlful of bubblegum. Nothing’s changed here then. Hollie Richardson

Ian Nathan’s meticulous film analysis series continues with an exploration of Michael Cimino’s 1978 Vietnam epic The Deer Hunter. It is a film with a contested legacy: it received considerable acclaim on its release, but has since been criticised for its somewhat one-dimensional portrayals of the Viet Cong. Phil Harrison

“Were my relatives enslaved at some point?” Sheffield-born Olympian Jessica Ennis-Hill finds the answer she feared as she travels to Jamaica with her dad and speaks to her great-aunt. This is a reality documentary with extra authenticity, since the presenter is training for midwife qualifications – but, when necessary, Emma Willis steps aside and lets the old pros at Watford General do their thing. This week, there’s a tricky birth, with a baby coming out with one elbow raised, and a heartstopping moment when a baby girl emerges … and then doesn’t cry. Jack Seale

The zombie spin-off set in a shattered New York continues. Vexed mom Maggie and semi-reformed villain Negan are set to put their rescue plan in motion. One of a regrettably small number of mainstream features made by Black British film-makers in the 1980s, and a clear touchstone for Steve McQueen’s recent Small Axe series, Menelik Shabazz’s groundbreaking drama covers a lot of ground. It starts out as a love story gone wrong, as the relationship between the independent-minded Pat (Cassie McFarlane) and jobless toolmaker Del (Victor Romero Evans) falters over his macho, controlling attitudes. But a violent incident pushes Pat towards a greater political awareness of her inequitable existence. Simon Wardell
