Survivor
8.25pm, BBC One
Joel Dommett presents this revival of an irresistible reality TV format: 18 contenders are packed off to a beautiful but unforgiving tropical island, divided into teams and forced to compete in tests of strength, stamina and logic, with the last person standing winning £100k. It’s fun to watch the alliances and antagonisms develop under duress, including misguided decisions to trash-talk strangers and bark orders at teammates. Phil Harrison
Strictly Come Dancing
6.40pm, BBC One
There are no treats for Amanda Abbington this Halloween, who has had to pull out for medical reasons. The spooky special must go on, though, and it promises lots of dancefloor tricks, such as Angela Rippon doing a charleston to the Murder, She Wrote theme tune. Ellen E Jones
Julia Bradbury’s Irish Journey
8.25pm, Channel 4
Bradbury sitting in a bath of slimy seaweed sounds like a charity telethon segment. But here it wraps up the Dublin-born presenter’s travelogue as she embarks on a trip across Northern Ireland. As well as gamely throwing herself into boating and surfing, she takes a deep dive into the complicated history of Derry. Graeme Virtue
Dark Hearts
9pm, BBC Four
Time is of the essence this week as the French military drama continues. The team need to extract Zaid and move him to Paris – but will the local Iraqis allow that to happen? Elsewhere, Hilaire is asked to find an Argentinian doctor who left an NGO under odd circumstances. PH
Stephen King on Screen
9pm, Sky Arts
Although the author’s own reaction to screen dramatisations can be hard to predict, Stephen King’s huge fictional oeuvre is a deep well of inspiration for purveyors of horror on film and TV. Mike Flanagan and Frank Darabont, two of the more successful translators of King’s visions, are among those interviewed. Jack Seale
Britain’s Human Zoos
9.25pm, Channel 4
In this fascinating but distressing film, novelist Nadifa Mohamed is your guide to the horrifying world of human zoos: travelling circuses of exoticised African and Asian people who were paraded for the prurient titillation of white British crowds until as recently as the 1950s. Startling. PH

Pain Hustlers, Netflix
Takedowns of Big Pharma and its role in opioid addiction are all the rage (Painkiller, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed). This new tale “inspired by real events” boldly offers a Wolf of Wall Street comedy-of-excess angle, as Emily Blunt’s jobless single mom Liza discovers a talent for pushing a fentanyl-based cancer drug to doctors when hired by Chris Evans’s pushy sales rep. As the cash rolls in, however, the firm’s owner (Andy García) stretches the legality of the operation and Liza begins to have qualms, with Blunt making the most of her switch from partying to pitying. Under the Skin, 1.40am, Film4
With Jonathan Glazer’s latest, the Cannes-garlanded The Zone of Interest, still without a UK release date, we’ll have to make do with his exceptional 2013 sci-fi chiller. It’s a cool, compelling story featuring a blank-faced Scarlett Johansson as an alien who drives around Glasgow in a white van, picking up men then doing murkily horrific things to them. Mica Levi’s on-edge score and the film’s documentary feel (are they real people she’s chatting up?) add to the unease, as her discovery of empathy puts her mysterious mission in jeopardy. SW
