Blackshore

9pm, BBC Four

Do not mess with DS Fia Lucey. The Irish detective, played by Lisa Dwan, makes quite the impression when she is temporarily seconded from Dublin to her rural home town: she immediately ruffles feathers as she is put on the case of a missing woman. And, like all good copper shows, it turns out that Fia has personal demons from the past to tackle, which might well be linked to the investigation. HR

Gladiators

5.45pm, BBC One

Not messing too much with the gaudy 1990s formula – spandex, razzmatazz and genuinely tough physical challenges – has seen the rebooted Gladiators become a runaway ratings success. But as the family-friendly hit returns for a third series, we are promised at least one innovation: a brand new event! Graeme Virtue

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show

6.45pm, BBC One

How do you think Joe Marler, the England rugby player and Celebrity Traitors star will react when woken up for a round of Midnight Gameshow? He’s even grumpier than Romesh Ranganathan is when put to the test in Remember Me. Luckily, it’s a new series, and host Michael McIntyre is manic enough for everyone. Ellen E Jones

Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed

7.30pm, Channel 4

KV11 is the anonymous-sounding name for something spectacular: Pharaoh Ramses III’s tomb – “the ultimate resurrection machine”. In this concluding episode, the archaeologists strive to complete its excavation for the first time in 100 years and find out whether more of his treasures lie beneath the debris. Plus, did Howard Carter steal from the tomb of Tutankhamun? Ali Catterall

Heated Rivalry

9pm, Sky Atlantic

A twist in this week’s double bill of the sizzling ice hockey drama, as it starts with another romance: Scott Hunter is readying for the Olympics when he meets and falls for his smoothie-server Kip. Then it’s back to Ilya and Shane, whose own love story knows the same hurdles. HR

Waiting for the Out

9.20pm, BBC One

As his work as a prison philosophy teacher starts to affect him, Dan (Josh Finan) can’t escape memories of a childhood spent in fear of his father (Gerard Kearns). This continues to be an exquisite drama from Dennis Kelly – with the added bonus of Dan’s delightfully terrible behaviour at a dinner party with middle-class Londoners. HR
