TV presenter steals show at 2022 Met Gala as she's dubbed 'flawless' and best dressed

A television news reporter stole the show on the red carpet of the 2022 Met Gala on Monday night, as people online heaped praise on her "flawless" gown and named her the best-dressed person at the event - despite only being there as a presenter.

Genesis Suero was reporting on the event for the Spanish-language broadcasting company Telemundo, and donned a stunning white and gold gown that many on social media agreed was the perfect representation of the 'Gilded Glamour' theme.

And while people also agreed that several celebrities fell short of the mark when it came to the theme - which was supposed to show off the grandeur of Gilded Age New York - Genesis went viral for being bang on the money, even though she wasn't actually part of the invited crowd who would be heading inside the event.

In fact, people on social media couldn't believe Genesis was "just a reporter", as she'd completely stolen the show and grabbed everyone's attention with her stunning gown.

One person wrote on Twitter alongside pictures of Genesis in action: "She's just a reporter?? Y'all, we have a Cinderella situation here because this girl just owned the Met Gala.

"It's like a fairytale! She's truly living her main character moment and I absolutely love to see it."

In the comments of the viral tweet - which was posted by @lightoflou and currently has over 23,000 retweets and 212,000 likes - people were equally as floored by the presenter's look, with many saying she outshone some of the invited celebrities.

One commenter said: "Flawless, my dear."

While another added: "She understood the assignment better than the celebrities."

And a third wrote: "How is she gonna pretend the celebs look good when she LOOKS LIKE THIS!"

Genesis herself has even acknowledged the praise on her own Twitter account ( @Genesiscamilas ), as she thanked people for their "beautiful and kind" messages.

In a tweet written in both English and Spanish, she said: "Welp! I guess I made it back to Twitter! Thank you for all of your beautiful and kind messages."

The presenter also spoke about her time at the Met Gala on her Instagram account ( @genesiscamilas ), where she revealed her dress was a creation by Lucia Rodriguez.

She also said she was "beyond blessed" to have been able to provide coverage of the 2022 Met Gala for Telemundo, and called the event a "magical moment" in her life.

The Met Gala, or the Costume Institute Gala, is held every year by Vogue and is a fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.
