Stars walk the red carpet at the Logies

The TV stars have arrived on the Gold Coast red carpet for the 62nd TV Week Logie awards.

Gold Logie nominee and Home and Away actor Ray Meagher said it was wonderful to see people at the awards after its two-year hiatus.

“Just to see old mates and all that, it’s great that the show’s back on the road,” he said.

Also vying for the coveted Gold Logie are the Nine Network’s Karl Stefanovic and the ABC’s Tom Gleeson, who famously won three years ago after launching a campaign ridiculing the award as well as his competition.

Standing back to back on the red carpet, Gleeson joked that he was taller than his rival, while Stefanovic replied that he had deeper pockets.

They’re also up against Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Melissa Leong and Sonia Kruger.

The awards are being held after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, with a few changes since the last time they were staged.

The Silver Logie for most popular presenter has been renamed the Bert Newton Award in honour of the late presenter, who died in October.

Old Moonface, as he was affectionately known, hosted the Logies 19 times and won the coveted Gold Logie in 1979, 1981, 1982 and 1984.

A new Silver Logie will also be awarded for the most popular actor in an international program.

The night will also feature a tribute to the long-running soapie Neighbours, a week after the show filmed its final scenes.

The Logies are being broadcast on Nine.
