Turkish authorities have launched a massive anti-narcotics crackdown, detaining 346 suspects and seizing large quantities of illegal drugs and weapons in a coordinated operation spanning five provinces. The Turkish Gendarmerie General Command led the raids, which targeted drug trafficking networks in Adana, Balıkesir, Nevşehir, Çanakkale and Bursa, underscoring the government’s intensified efforts to dismantle organised crime rings operating across the country.
The operation, carried out on Saturday, February 21, 2026, involved simultaneous raids on 93 locations, executed by 635 personnel including public security teams, special commando units and 13 specially trained drug-detection dogs. According to official statements, the coordinated action was overseen in close cooperation with regional chief prosecutor’s offices and the anti-narcotics directorates, using both physical and technical surveillance to track and document suspects’ activities before executing arrest warrants.
