Government guidance for people planning to travel to Turkey has been updated by the UK Foreign Office, after a recent terrorism incident.
The new guidance from the government warns of a heightened risk of terrorism. Wales Online reports that most attacks have happened in the south-east of the country, as well as in Ankara and Istanbul.
An attack in the Beyoglu district of Istanbul in November left six people dead and injured dozens more. "There is a potential that citizens from western countries may be targets or caught up in attacks, particularly in the major cities," says the advice, which was published on Sunday (January 29).
