Turkey is roasting rival resorts in the fight to attract UK holidaymakers following the easing of Covid travel restrictions. The rise in popularity of the value-for-money destination has been underlined by the rise in sales of travel insurance policies by 66 per cent.
Insurance specialist battleface has confirmed the Turkey looks set to be one of the best locations for a foreign break this summer. Katie Crowe, global director of PR and communications at battleface, said: “Economic conditions in Turkey and a fall in the number of Russian visitors has meant that holiday money will go a lot further compared to even a few months ago as sterling continues to strengthen against the Turkish Lira.
"Undoubtedly great deals and added pressure from the cost of living is providing a compelling case to book a holiday to the beautiful coasts of this Eastern Mediterranean country.”
battleface, offers a one-week travel insurance policy to Turkey from £20.05 per person for departures in June.
Similarly, online travel platform HolidayPirates, has seven-nights at four-star Hotel Havana in Antalya, based on two people sharing on an all-inclusive basis including flights from three different airports (London Gatwick, London Stansted and Manchester) from £269 per person for a June departure.
HolidayPirates also has seven-nights at f ive-star Otium Family Stone Palace in Side , along Turkey's Mediterranean coast, on an all-inclusive basis for £336 per person based on two people sharing, including flights departing from Bristol departing on June 23.
