TUI flight to Fuerteventura forced to return to airport after tail strikes runway on take-off

An official report has been published following events which saw a TUI holiday jet with 178 passengers and eight crew on board forced to return to the airport after the plane's tail struck the runway on take-off

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) report revealed a trainee co-pilot 'rotated the aircraft too rapidly'.

Cabin crew reported hearing 'a very big bang' and the flight from Manchester Airport to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands returned immediately to the airport in March, M.E.N reports.
