MYSTIC WELLS can confirm her preference for a mile and a quarter by winning the British EBF Premier Fillies’ Handicap at Brighton (3.58).
George Boughey’s filly wore a hood for the first time when second behind Charlie Appleby’s After The Rain at Windsor over the same trip a fortnight ago, going down by a length – and she is just 1lb higher for that effort. Boughey has his horses running well at present and the three-year-old can prove too strong for main danger Thunder Queen, who steps up in trip and class after winning at Windsor last Friday.
Sir Michael Stoute is well known for bringing on fillies from three to four-year-olds and NOON STAR is the one to beat in the Listed British EBF Supporting Racing To School Nottinghamshire Oaks Stakes (4.05). Second behind Snowfall in last year’s Musidora, this is her first appearance since sixth in last year’s Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.
