Truro architecture firm expands with new planning consultancy service

An architectural firm is expanding its remit after establishing its own planning consultancy service.

Truro-based CAD Architects has recruited Laura Potts to head up the service for new and existing clients. A chartered town planner, Laura brings more than 19 years of experience to her new role.

CAD Architects managing director Mark Dawes said: “The practice has been growing steadily and we have built a highly-talented team who are able to handle a wide range of projects.

“With the growing importance and complexity of planning issues, we have taken the bold step of setting up our own planning consultancy so that we can offer the very best advice on these matters to our clients.

“There are very few chartered architecture practices in the South West who can offer this service and we are delighted
to welcome Laura into the business.”

Laura’s previous role was as a principal development officer at Cornwall Council. She has a degree in architecture and is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Her work has given her a very deep understanding of the planning challenges in the local area.

Laura said: “This is a very exciting time to be joining CAD Architects, as it continues to win a number of high-profile new commissions. I am looking forward to using my skills and experience to advise the team and their clients. My goal is to deliver the best planning outcomes for our clients so that I can help the business to continue to grow and develop.”
