Attorney General Todd Blanche went ballistic when pressed about a scenario in which President Donald Trump tries to overturn the results of November’s midterm elections if it doesn’t go his way.
The question, posed by CNN host Dana Bash on Sunday, stemmed from a conversation about the Department of Justice’s lawsuit to block the certification of the competitive Senate race in Alaska if Republican Senator Dan Sullivan loses. Trump and his fellow Republicans have argued that since there is a second candidate not affiliated with a party named Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., the ballot will confuse voters and potentially siphon votes away from the GOP incumbent. The president has gone as far as to claim Daniel J. Sullivan is only running “because the Democrats want to steal the Election.”
