President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team for the Defense Department is expected to arrive at the Pentagon on Monday for their first in-person visit, according to a defense official. The Defense Agency Review Team is anticipated to arrive later in the morning or early afternoon, although the timing is subject to change. As of now, the Trump transition team has not signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Services Administration, which means they will not be provided government-issued equipment such as computers or laptops, and they will not have official government email addresses.
Despite this, the Trump transition team will still be permitted to enter the Pentagon and utilize the designated spaces for their activities, the official confirmed. Talks between the Pentagon and the Trump transition team commenced on Friday, with the DoD transition team lead engaging in discussions with Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks.
