On Saturday, Trump will be the main attraction at a fundraiser luncheon aimed at rallying support from his wealthy backers. The weekend kicked off with a welcome reception at the Four Seasons, where attendees mingled with prominent figures like Lara Trump, Mike Johnson, and Elise Stefanik.
Notable guests at the retreat include Republicans on Trump's VP shortlist such as J.D. Vance, Doug Burgum, Tim Scott, Marco Rubio, Byron Donalds, and Stefanik. Other attendees include Rick Scott, Marsha Blackburn, Jim Banks, Wesley Hunt, Dave McCormick, Bernie Moreno, and Kristi Noem.
While Trump is not expected to announce his running mate soon, the retreat offers a chance for potential picks to interact with him. The decision is likely to be revealed closer to the Republican National Convention in July.
Aside from the political discussions, Trump is also planning to attend the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday. Originally scheduled to host a fundraiser at the event, a recent cease-and-desist letter prevented his friend Steve Witkoff from using a suite for the purpose.
The retreat comes amidst internal party tensions, with Marjorie Taylor Greene planning a vote on Mike Johnson's ouster as House Speaker.
