President Trump on Monday claimed the unpopular war he continues to prosecute against Iran is not at the root of gasoline prices that are leaving Americans’ finances increasingly strained with midterm elections less than a month away, instead choosing to cast blame on Ukraine and Democratic-led states he accused of somehow closing down refineries for unknown reasons.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: “What's driving up Gasoline is no longer the Strait of Hormuz, because Record Numbers of Barrels are coming out now on an almost daily basis, but the word, ‘Refineries.’”
