President Donald Trump will skip the Ground Zero event and instead attend a memorial service at the Pentagon alongside First Lady Melania Trump.
Reports indicate Trump changed his plans after memorial officials reminded his team that politicians are prohibited from giving speeches at Ground Zero.
Trump and White House officials denied the reporting, with Trump labeling it fake news and stating he is happy not to speak on a day reserved for honoring victims.
Vice President JD Vance will represent the White House at the ceremony in New York City.
