Donald Trump is deploying thousands of Marines to the Strait of Hormuz as fears grow that the US could put troops on the ground in the conflict.
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth approved a request by US Central Command for the deployment of a Marine expeditionary unit, typically including several warships and 5,000 troops, sources told the Wall Street Journal.
