President Donald Trump urged voters to treat the 2026 midterm elections as if he were personally on the ballot, saying Republicans must win to prevent what he described as another impeachment effort.

'We do great when I'm on the ballot, when I'm not on the ballot, people don't go and vote so much,' Trump told supporters at a rally in Durant, Oklahoma, on October 1. 'Pretend I'm running, please. If we don't win, they'll end up impeaching me.'
