Trump Says Firefighters 'Lifted Me Up' and Ran From Building They Feared Would Collapse After 9/11

Trump recalls 9/11 firefighters carrying him but critics question his claims (Credit: National Park Service, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons)

Donald Trump has offered a dramatic recollection of the September 11 attacks, describing how two firefighters, he claims, lifted him off the ground and ran with him as they feared a nearby building was about to collapse.

The former US president also claimed he watched the second plane strike the World Trade Center from an apartment in Midtown Manhattan and went to Ground Zero the following day with construction workers. His account has drawn renewed scrutiny because of disputed claims he has made regarding his presence and activities after the attacks.
