Donald Trump’s transition team has initiated the preparation of a series of executive orders and presidential proclamations concerning energy and climate policies, as reported by sources familiar with the plans. Among the proposed actions is the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate agreement, a decision initially announced by Trump in June 2017 and reiterated during his 2024 campaign. Additionally, the team is considering reducing government jobs and offices dedicated to pollution reduction in disadvantaged communities, as well as downsizing national monuments to facilitate increased drilling on public lands.
