President Trump reportedly informed Attorney General Pam Bondi of her replacement while en route to the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday morning – by saying “I think it’s time”.
Trump publicly announced Bondi's departure on Truth Social on Thursday, stating she would be moving to a private sector job.
Bondi's removal makes her the second Cabinet official ousted during Trump's second term, following Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Her deputy, Todd Blanche, will assume her role in an acting capacity.
Reports indicate Trump was frustrated with Bondi's leadership, citing her alleged failure to prosecute political enemies and the handling of Jeffrey Epstein files.
