Former President Donald Trump's motorcade has departed Trump Tower and is en route to the Manhattan criminal court, where he is expected to confront his ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen.
The crux of the prosecutors' case revolves around Cohen's testimony, which alleges that Trump illegally falsified business records by concealing reimbursements to Cohen to keep payments hidden before the 2016 election.
Cohen is anticipated to discuss the hush money agreement he helped negotiate in 2016 with adult film actress Stormy Daniels, as well as how Trump repaid him the following year.
It remains uncertain whether Cohen will be the first to testify, as the prosecution has indicated that they have two witnesses remaining.
Earlier on Monday, Cohen left his residence without making any comments to the media.
The judge has instructed prosecutors to relay a message to Cohen, requesting that he refrain from making further comments about the case and Trump.
