Trump’s Labor Secretary Lori Chavez DeRemer quits after string of scandals

  • Her husband also faced accusations of sexually assaulting Department of Labor employees, which reportedly led to his ban from department buildings.
  • The formal complaint and subsequent investigation by the Department of Labor’s inspector general also resulted in the departure of at least four other officials, including her chief of staff and deputy chief of staff.
  • During her tenure, Chavez-DeRemer oversaw significant policy changes, such as rollbacks to workplace regulations and the cancellation of international grants aimed at combating child labor.
