Former President Donald Trump has firmly stated that there will be no rematch for the upcoming presidential debates, shutting down the possibility of further discussions. This decision comes after Fox News proposed hosting another debate in Pennsylvania later this month, to which Trump responded with a resounding rejection.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump emphasized that it is already late in the voting process, with ballots already being cast. He highlighted Vice President Kamala Harris' recent statement affirming that she would not deviate from President Joe Biden's policies, further solidifying his stance that there is no need for additional debates.
Fox News had extended an invitation for a debate in Pennsylvania on either October 24 or 27, with moderators Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. Trump, however, reiterated his belief that he had emerged victorious in the previous two debates and pointed out that he had accepted Fox News' previous invitation, which Harris declined.
Meanwhile, CNN has also entered the fray by offering to host a debate in Atlanta on October 23, as the window for a final 2024 presidential matchup continues to narrow. While Harris has accepted CNN's invitation, Trump has made it clear that he is not interested in a rematch. CNN has set a deadline for both candidates to formally respond to the invitation by Thursday.
