Trump Proposes Government-Funded IVF Treatments, Defends Fertility Rights

Donald Trump Former U.S. President Trump hosts a campaign rally, in Rome, Georgia

Former President Donald Trump has reiterated his proposal to have in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments paid for by either the government or insurance companies. This announcement was made during a town hall campaign event in Wisconsin, moderated by former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who recently endorsed Trump.

During the event, Trump emphasized his support for IVF treatments, despite previous threats against the procedure from Republicans. He highlighted his stance following a recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling that raised concerns about the legality of IVF procedures in the state.

Tulsi Gabbard shared her IVF experience, highlighting the challenges and costs involved.

Gabbard, who shared her own experience with IVF, described the process as difficult and expensive. She raised concerns about the accessibility of IVF treatments for individuals who may need them.

Trump assured the audience that he is in favor of IVF treatments and intends to ensure that they are accessible to those who require them. He proposed that the government should cover the costs of IVF treatments or mandate insurance companies to provide coverage for them.

Trump's comments reaffirm his commitment to supporting fertility treatments and promoting the birth of babies in the country. This announcement comes at a time when his stance on reproductive health care is once again being scrutinized.

Notably, Trump's campaign recently clarified his position on a Florida ballot measure related to abortion access. While Trump initially appeared to indicate his stance on the issue, his campaign later stated that he had not explicitly stated how he would vote on the ballot initiative.

In his remarks during the town hall event, Trump did not address the Florida ballot measure, focusing instead on his proposal to ensure coverage for IVF treatments.
